THE QUIKSILVER CROSSING CHANGES TACK.....see latest Captains Log.

Costa Rica was an insane surfing trip for me cause I felt really comfortable around such a beautiful place. It reminded me of Tahiti in a way but Tahiti is way wilder I think. In Tahiti you feel as if the green mountains want to eat you cause the landscape has a strong sense of wild power where I am sure everybody feels small and vulnerable while in Costa Rica you feel part of the nature and totally in control of what is around you. I was impressed by the first day in that beautiful country cause it is a place where nature was always really close to you and expressing itself in different amazing ways, the first day being there I saw crocodiles walking by the side of a river and I experienced the first heavy storm.

The waves in Costa Rica where really fun and ripable. I was impressed with everybody's surfing and was totally stoked surfing with girls I haven't surfed in a while with. Danielle, Lisa, Megan and Chelsea. Chelsea was getting perfect surfs proving that she was the one pushing the limit while Lisa was surfing so smooth and beautiful that she reminded myself why she is a 4 time world champ, while Megan was surfing really powerful and shredding the waves from the beginning to the end. The trip was not only about surfing it was also I think about sharing time with people and enjoying the beauty of the place. We played a lot of cards during the trip and watch surfing videos and dvds (lots of Sex in the City and Friends)... so much that captain Mark prohibited them by the end of the trip.

Just by trying to write about Costa Rica I have a lot of flash backs and every flash back I have is of somebody laughing and having a good time, we were all in a good mood and taking things as they came, always trying to find a way of making the trip special. Sometimes you don't realize how much fun you have had on a trip until it is over and you are home wanting to repeat it and wanting to surf more next time. Ok lets get back to Costa Rica before I loose track and go to other stories that involve the same insane feeling as being on the Crossing.

The days went really quick on the boat and between good laughs, insane surfing, excellent food and ok dancing, before we knew it we were in our last day there. I was actually feeling sad and I wanted to stay a couple extra days but things got complicated and I had to go back home but with a really good feeling of satisfaction and gratefulness for being part of the Crossing once more.
