The Indies Trader picked us up from the port to start our trip. We had a 9 hour haul ahead of us to the first break, so we all sat up on the bow of the boat, drank beer and got ourselves psyched for the next 14 days.

Day 2

Went to sleep to wake up to the most beautiful set-up I've ever seen. Big lush jungle in front of us and a 2ft absolutely perfect right to our left. We all went for a paddle but it was really small with heaps of potential. We set off for a new spot to find some more swell. Three hours later we came around the corner of the new island only to see 4ft peeling right handers. We all bailed off the boat and surfed for the rest of the day. In the late afternoon John took me fishing on the tin boat and we were both very lucky. I got a 15kg Barracuda and he got a 25kg Kingfish. What a day!

Day 3

Woke early to the boat rolling a lot more. The swell was up! 4-6ft and some of the best rights I've seen in a long time. Pretty fat, but very smackable, we each had two surfs and everyone had a lot of fun! We are now going back to the first reef as the swell has picked up. Just before dark we arrived and the waves are small but dead perfect. You can see how sick it would be if there were more swell.

Day 4

Surfed all day at the same spot, had lots of fun until the swell dropped off completely.

Day 5

Moved in the middle of the night and woke to see a left hand reef, but no swell and cross shore winds. Moved after a few of the guys had a surf. On our way we come across an island with some really insane white, so we stopped and went diving and fishing. Mick and myself took the tinny across to another island were we found some really fun little peaks. The big boat came across and anchored there, we all surfed till dark! We pulled anchor and started the 12 hour journey to somewhere else.

Day 6

Woke up to the most perfect left I've seen. Had some nice barrels, it was only 3ft but long perfect lefts and I had lots of fun.

Day 7

Still at this place and the waves are really small.

Day 8

Swell jumped overnight but very fat waves, nothing great.

Day 9

Arrived somewhere new but no swell, spent the whole day in some village on the boat refuelling and getting some supplies. Anchored that night close to where we refuelled and the games began. Gigs and Jason decided they would drink the swell up - six bottles of Rum later - enough said.

Next morning no sign of swell but a few hangovers on board! Motored through some amazing islands but we battled to find any waves. Eventually found a small reef with a few lefts 2-3ft fun little waves. Moved on hoping for something else in the area but nothing. Woke up to see the first real island with surf camps and lots of people. Small little rights, you could see the potential but no swell. We went onto land found a taxi and got a ride into town. Dane managed to find some DVD's which he had a few problems with. At the end of the day we found a sick set up but once again no swell! We were now off to somewhere else hoping for a few waves on our last day!

Woke up to really fun 3-5ft waves a couple of little barrels and probably the best wave we surfed the whole trip. Went scuba diving in the afternoon - insane! Next morning arrived back at the place we got on the boat and off to the airport.

The trip was insane even though we didn't get the surf we hoped for. The boat was something else and everything we did and saw was insane.
