 Puerto Rico goes off!!!
December 13 - 18 2004
By Dana Mesenbrink

I don’t want to boast about the most recent Quiksilver Crossing stop, but damn, Puerto Rico has officially changed their country name to “Quiky Rico.”

Lead by Rick Villanueva (The Don) and Pablo Diaz (Chi-Chi), the Quiksilver Marketing Dept. and Sales Dept. teamed up for another great event.

The week consisted of tours of the Indies Trader, cocktail cruises with local retailers, and some good old fashioned ripping. Josh Hoyer, Jimmy Rotherham, Pablo Diaz, Dylan Graves and Gaby Escudero put on a clinic for everyone in and out of the water.  Pablo, Rick and Matt Kechele taught about 60 girls and boys from 5 to 12 years old to surf. There was autograph signing by the pros and much more.

After giving over 400 people tours of the infamous Indies Trader throughout the week, everyone who was involved was ready to unwind and this is exactly what we did. 1200+ people including most of Puerto Rico’s Quiksilver retailers, local Puerto Rican pro surfers and just average Jose’s like myself joined Quiksilver for a “Puerto Rican Style” fiesta. What a great way to wrap up an amazing week! Thank you Puerto Rico.
